Seconds Maspalomas, 20x20cm Screenprint

For the 20:20 print exchange 2023, I created Maspalomas, a screenprint based on a sketch I did on holiday. I chose this warm sunset like palette, to capture sunny days and commemorate my first time in Gran Canaria. 

To make sure I get 25 perfect prints for the exchange, I print extras, so I have some Artist Proofs available for Super Seconds Festival.

Paper: white recycled, 300gsm card 

Size: 200mm x 200mm

Unframed, prints posted flat, in a card backed envelope.

The Process

All of the screenprints in my store are hand-pulled by myself. Each of the four layers were printed using an exposed silkscreen. I designed it as three kaleidoscopic columns that are pulling apart to break the form and used inks with different levels of transparency, so you can see the layering of the different colours overlapping each other, just like in the toys.
